Our vision is a world where everyone can choose freely whether and when to have children, and how many: for the benefit of all people and the planet.
Our mission is to promote sexual and reproductive health knowledge, rights and services, for the benefit of all people, especially women and girls, and to support sustainable development.
To implement our mission, our work focuses on the right to unrestricted access to family planning information, rights and services by undertaking four core activities:
- Developing, delivering and promoting high quality sexual and reproductive health training programmes for medical professionals to ensure excellence in clinical service delivery;
- Undertaking sexual and reproductive health education activities to promote contraceptive choice and a greater understanding of the health, gender and other benefits of family planning;
- Raising awareness of how population dynamics (such as population growth and decline, birth, death and migration rates) can alleviate poverty, promote economic development and enhance the natural environment, security and other international development priorities. Removing barriers inhibiting discussion on these topics will promote the connections between these issues and rights based family planning policies and programmes; and
- Providing a leadership role in the development community on the links between sexual and reproductive health and rights, population dynamics and international development challenges, whilst promoting, designing and implementing integrated solutions to these interrelated issues.
