LSHTM Toolkit
The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) leads on the research element of our work in Rukiga district Uganda. This research was part of our initial activities to design and implement integrated programming to address the connected challenges faced by people in Rukiga. The LSHTM toolkit is primarily for organisations and individuals that are interested in designing and implementing population, health and environment, or PHE projects, like our project in Rukiga. It can be used as a stand-alone self-learning tool by people and organisations that are new to conducting integrated programming, but it can also be used as a tool for training project staff. The LSHTM authors have drawn extensively on their own experiences of working on different PHE projects, but they have also tried to synthesise many important insights gained from available literature, colleagues, and scholars, some of whom have been acknowledged at the end of this toolkit.
